About

Tamara Brink

Hawai’i is a fitting home and place of inspiration for me as life in Hawaii is lived outdoors. The love for “I ka aina” or “the earth around” is is an important cultural value here and has allowed me to jump headlong into a people who are equally inspired and in awe of I ka aina.

Growing up in the mountains of North Idaho, running through fields and getting lost in the woods instilled in me a love for nature and the outdoors. The fondness of these recollections is the foundation for every piece I create. Now as a mother with children climbing rocks and swimming in the ocean around me, I hope they too connect with the beauty and stillness of nature that inspires my work.

As is true for most artists, my work continues to develop and grow. Some foundational qualities of my style and technique will remain with me always while other aspects have evolved over the years. My work has always tended to be expressed in an abstract fashion with a strong emphasis on shape and color.

I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design with a major in Art Education and an emphasis in Painting and Drawing. Along with select showings in Hawai’i and mainland US, you can primarily find me on Instagram: (tamarabrink_art) where I post of my adventures in art.

If you happen to find yourself on the North Shore of Oahu, pop me a message and come see my studio space. I would love to meet you and spread ALOHA.
